Spanish and Tango

Argentina is known around the world for many things and one of those things is its famous rioplatense dance: the Tango. It is a sensual and highly complex dance. It is normally accompanied by music interpreted by a sextet and lyrics. Usually they are sad songs that speak about the troubles of love; however some songs also refer to politics and even incorporate some humor.

The song lyrics include a wide range of slang words pertaining to the port areas of the city of Buenos Aires. This slang, called Lunfardo, contains personalized terms, is spoken with a peculiar accent and has an obvious dropping of the "s" sound.

Learning this sensational dance by visiting the typical cafes where tango can be seen will make your experience learning Spanish in Argentina one that is less than ordinary: You will live the real spirit of Buenos Aires.

Our partner schools in Buenos Aires and Cordoba offer you the opportunity to take a Spanish course and attend Tango classes at the same time. You will learn that Tango is not only a dance, it is a way of life. There are many places in the cities of Buenos Aires and Cordoba that offer places to watch Tango shows. There are also plenty of local Tango and Milonga bars where you can practice yourself! A great experience, don't you think?

The course includes 20 group classes of Spanish during the week + 8 lessons of Tango in the evening. The course will include a conceptual lesson and a Tango show to watch as well as the Tango lessons themselves.
