Spanish Courses in Heredia

The School

Our partner school in Heredia is situated in a spectacular building in San Joaquín de Flores, a town with a population of around 10.000 people, only 15 minutes by bus from the Juan de Santamaría International Airport and the city of Heredia.

The school offers:

  • 21 classrooms
  • Conference room
  • Cafeteria
  • Administrative offices
  • Library
  • Common areas for relaxing and socialising
  • Hammocks
  • Tropical gardens

Spanish Courses in Heredia
  • Intensive group course: 20 group classes per week
  • Super-intensive group course: 27,5 group classes per week
  • One on One course: 20 classes per week

Timetable

Classes are held from Monday to Friday from 8am to 12pm with a 20-minute coffee break at 10am. In the Super-intensive courses classes start at 8am and finish at 2:30pm with a coffee break at 10am and a one-hour break at 12pm.

Teachers

All teachers are university graduates and well trained in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

Activities and Excursions

The school organises excursions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and on the weekends. Cultural activities take place in the library 2-3 times per week, and once a month there is a "cultural week" with special events.

The most common activities are:

  • Latin Dance classes (salsa, merengue and cumbia)
  • Cooking lessons
  • Literature or handicrafts workshops
  • Coffee tour to the Café Britt coffee plantation
  • Waterfall rappelling
  • White water rafting
  • Visit to the Arenal Volcano
  • Visit to the Poás Volcano
  • Visit to the Irazu Volcano
  • Visit to Manuel Antonio National Park
  • Jungle boat trip on the Sarapiquí River
  • Visit to the Tortuguero National Park

Our Opinion

This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature at its very best and learn Spanish. Everything is close and accessible, be it the big city, the ocean, or the tropical forest. Heredia provides a little something for everyone!
